Nice site! I enjoyed listening to the podcast as I browsed through the reviews. I’m glad you included Hitchcock classics like Psycho and The Birds in your list of recommendations. Nice that Science Fiction classics like The Thing are included as well. Do me a favor though. You guys ought to review Event Horizon sometime. It’s certainly not new, but it is one of the best horror/Science Fiction movies of all time.
Hi your site is nice. The Lovely Bones looks very interesting watching the trailer, but after listening to your podcast, I think I will hold off until it comes on Netflix.
I was looking for this knowledge and information on horror movies. Just so you know I discovered your podcast when I was checking for the best horror podcasts and I am glad I found yours. This was a kool episode and I liked your guest host also. I agree with you all, The Lovely Bones could of been much more horrorific, I think the Director played it safe.
You had some dissention with Pontypool. Just want to give you my 2 cents. While the acting was good and the story had promise, as an overall movie it was a let down. No action and hardly any violent scenes. More of like a twilight zone feel, which isnt a bad thing, but for this one I would have to rate it as 2 stars. Way to boring with some very stupid antics thrown in at the end. Excellent podcast and I just subscribed to your feed.
Thanks a bunch! Nice podcast, I just saved your website url.
Hi , when browsing your site i realized their was audio on each post, so I was wondering what it is all about. I played this episode and it was excellent. I never even heard of a “podcast” I have to do some research now and see what other sort of podcasts are on the web. Thanks graciuosly for turning me on to audio in this fashion.
Holy kumunga you got some diverse thriller picks on this episode. A Hitchcock classic, A King classic and A Foreign classic, all good movies to say the least. Thanks very much for producing this high quality show, I really enjoy listening.
I agree with you all mark wahlberg couldnt pull off the grieving father. Another actor would of made this movie much more enjoyable. Grade “AA” podcast, thx for the free audio.
well, reading the others comments i guess i am alone in this but this movie shook me to the core. ok…i could have done without all the animated ” in between” scenes..but i guess in some way children watching this will be less scared of death. Back to adults though..i personally knew a girl who was a victem of a cerial killer. How horrific was the premise …and people….this is happening in our world ..the’re just not getting caught.
spelling corrections…victim and serial
Good podcast and I liked your special guest this week.
Good podcast and I will check out your thriller-chiller picks, I seen the Grudge but not Ju-on, thank your guest host for suggesting that as I never knew the Grudge was based on that.
This is not Peter Jackson’s best work by far, the Lovely Bones was a little over dramatic and quite boring to say the least. Could of been much more terrifying, it just fell short, so basically I am agreeing with you all. Was nice to have a guest that read the book to draw comparisions on this episode.
Hi – I agree with the horror-guy on pontypool, and a 3 is being generous. dumb-dumb-dumb movie “kill is kiss-kill is kiss-kill is kiss” are you frickin kiddin me. Thanks again for publishing such a great podcst!!
Super podcast, nice epsiode with your special guest, like the book analogy + a super website.
Finally…got around to seeing Pontypool and while I liked TV shows like Twilight Zone, this movie just didn’t hold any water and quickly lost steam after minutes and minutes and minutes of nothing happening and a radio talk show host speaking and acting stupid. My overall rating would be a 2 (Boring, Ludacris, Dumb).
While the Lovely Bones was somewhat bland, the actual overtones of the film was quite terrifying. It was a pretty good representation of the book.
