There are 4 more horror podcasts that could not be ranked starting with Slackers Ate My Neighbors and The Dark Hours Horror Podcast because they do not have their own website and are hosted by other networks. The final 2 are Blood, Bullets And Broads and Dinner For Fiends, these are nestled amongst an overall horror theme with no direct website for the podcast.

Well, it really is a significant achievement to be number one. Your PR and overall rank definitely prove the point.
You should also be proud of having more than thousand listeners in Feedburner, it is not easy to get those numbers.
Cheers
Congratulations Horrorgal & Horrorguy!!! I totally love your podcast, you are where I get all my horror info on new releases.
Wow! Congratulations!
Great achievement!
That is stellar news hmpod. I can see why tho, as i have listened to about a dozen or so on the top 25 list and u2 are BY FAR the most informative with no stupid antics and disgusting language. Well deserved and hopefully you can maintain the number 1 spot. I am truly a fan.
Thank you fellas for all the kind words. We appreciate your comments and are glad you like our show.
Were is the stats, the link you are pulling this from?
Evidence?
Tom: The website rank, the number listed to the right of each podcast is the worldwide ranking number of how popular the website is, based on the 2 billion plus sites on the net.
how do you calculate the world wide ranking #
post a link were you this info from.
Tom: There are tons of analytical sites where you can find what a website is ranked in the world, a quick Google search will find them.
sounds like you have a jealous horror competitor there horror guy – common sense for that dude to check a website rank – anywho started downloading your cast about a month ago and like your information and ratings you provide for current horror movies – kudos to your cast
wow! congratulations for being the top horror podcaster. what a feat!
Cool achievement! Congrats!
Wow, Congrats guys! That is awesome PR5 isn’t easy to come by, and top of the podcast list really shows the quality and dedication you guys put out. Way to go, keep slicing, dicing and murdering the charts!
Thanks so much for all the kind comments and support listeners. We really appreciate it.
Such bulls**t statistics. Where are your download numbers? Bloody Good Horror is the top horror podcast on podomatic yet you dont even have them listed here. Plus Blood, Bullets and Broads are affiliated with arrowinthehead one of the largest horror websites on the planet. Seems like you know a way to manipulate google hits for your site but that still dont mean people listen to or suscribe to the podcast. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the headline.
Nice comment (wtf – language), why don’t you leave your name and what horror podcast your affiliated with, I can tell by your horrid language the type of person you are and rankings don’t lie. Who cares how the site does on one website (podomatic), we are #1 on several sites, but I didn’t mention that, by the way, on podomatic that podcast has 11 followers and 27 friends, some big numbers there, anyway that has nothing to do with the overall web rank and it can not be faked or manipulated. That podcast was added to the list, it was unknown at the time this was posted.
Wonderful news for your show. Your podcast is really enjoyable and I thoroughly like how you rate the films. I could listen to you more, maybe soon you can do more episodes as I can’t get enough. I watch with my husband like 10 horror movies a week.
I want to thank everyone for all there comments and to Katie Slippers a special thanks and the HorrorGuy and I are thinking about maybe having an extra show once a month. Thanks everyone for listening.

The best horror podcasts in the world was updated today to include 3 more podcasters that was unknown at the time of the original post. Anytime there is a change or update to this top list, it will be updated in a timely manner.
Wow. Not sure quite how 19 Nocturne Boulevard (my show) got on there at all – we’re an audio drama series, sort of like Twilight Zone, rather than a horror movie discussion podcast. I feel a bit like we’re included under false pretenses, though I appreciate seeing that I’m in the ratings somewhere.

Keep up the good work!
In all fairness, wWebsite rank is not necessarily indicative of popularity of a podcast. Those numbers would include visitors to the website for other posted content like news, interviews, and forum activity. I think what you’d want to examine is number of downloads. You can’t really get that information for other sites by using services like Alexa, and download numbers don’t exactly indicate number of listeners accurately, but this sounds like more of what you’re after here.
I’m not even sure numbers matter here. Whether they number 100 or 10,000, the enjoyment of your listeners is key to a successful podcast.
Don’t be too concerned with numbers. The really cool kids don’t worry about how cool they are.
Pretty good point Larry, but that’s all the more reason the numbers are important, as our podcast has no other news, forums, etc like most other podcasts. And the list was comprised as a compilation as their was no other sites that posted all the horror podcasts available around the world.
The websites you are listing do have additional content. True, if yours does not, them maybe your traffic is mostly due to people visiting your website to download the podcast. Your numbers are accurate for that purpose, but the other shows are also downloaded through podcast alley and other sites. If anything, this would mean other sites have offered more locations to link to their files, requiring less need to visit their websites to get the shows.
Forgive me for questioning this, but you seem to have about 20 episodes and a number of shows on your list have 100 or more. Assuming this indicates popularity, and isn’t a temporary peak due to your relative newness, you can’t blame a guy for wondering how you managed it.
The good news here is I didn’t know about your show before today, so I’ll be downloading it and giving it a try. There’s always room for one more!
Great point Fake Larry. I would say a lot of the podcasts dont host their own podcasts cuz they go through other means or other third parties to host their shows. Thus they would have a lot lower traffic hits to their site even if they could potentially have way more listeners than the Horror Movie Show.
Wow! My podcast (Slackers Ate My Neighbors) was mentioned in a top 25 post. I’m speechless, excited, slightly aroused, and very grateful all at the same time
<3
I don’t believe this list is accurate.
Wow great group of shows. I’d argue some placements but not my place just personal opinion great to see some of my podcast brethren and sister..en? lol on here. Awesome guys!
i started listening to you the horrorguy & girl around episode 5 and have been a devoted fan ever since i like your straightforward ratings with not all the fluff well deserved no1 spot—by the way i know the answer to the trivia question this month last month i had no clue
Here’s my view and sorry about the diatribe I am going to lay out here.
I have been a devoted horror podcast listener for 3+ years and started with a cast called Horror Junk which is no longer around. Currently I subscribe to a handful of casts on this list.
To me it is about enjoyment and information. While many on the list *try to be funny or *think they are funny they are not. It really spoils the cast. Too many podcasters talk about their life, no one cares. Finally the vulgarity and disgusting language used is a complete turnoff.
Congratulations to the Horror Movie Show for being first in this horror genre podcast and bringing a combination of useful information, rankings, ratings with a friendly atmosphere where I don’t have to mute the sound if my kids walk into the room. Some of the other horror casts should get a clue on what their audience desires.

I agree with the commentor above about some of those horror podcasts talking about what they ate for dinner, how drunk they are, etc…stupid and annoying to say the least..I have owned sites for almost 10 years now and the ranks are correct (i even checked myself about 10 or so to validate). The cry babies that posted comments have so many reasons/excuses they should focus there time on improving their podcast then complaining. IMHO the top 2 are head and shoulders above the rest. Well done gal/guy at hmpod.
I co present The Gentlemen’s Grindhouse, and I’m just happy to make the list! Congrats guys, I’ll check out your show!
If done correctly, personal commentary about the person speaking (or writing) is something that is referred to as a good marketing idea (personal branding, enduring yourself to the listener/reader, etc.)
But yes, I agree as the concept is valid, many people fail at the execution and turn it into a “who cares about you” ramble…
Hmmm…Where the **** is Gutmunchers!?
One of the finest (interviews alone are superb) horror podcasts I’ve heard and recently I’ve been checking out a lot.
Nice to see ‘Cadaver Lab’ and ‘Bloody Good Horror’ there (**** fine) as well as ‘Goreboy…
BUT ‘Goreboy’ hasn’t even done a podcast for MONTHS! In fact…I don’t think he’s done a podcast this year!
How the **** does an inactive (though coming back soon hopefully) podcast get so high?
Especially when constantly updated podcasts are not there at all?
Was unaware of Gutmunchers, they have now been added to the list and GoreBoy removed due to inactivity.
I bleeped certain words of your comments, 42nd Street Freak, as we are a family friendly podcast, so please watch the vulgarity.
Bravo—the horror movie show (you like the rhyme) Great podcast I like your show keeps me up to date on horror. #1 is sweet!
What an accomplisment—–congratulations horror man and horror woman
Really good site, extremely informative podcast for horror movies, congrats for being no.1 ranked.
Just dropped in to let you know that your podcast has been the most downloaded show on our directory for over 2 months now, and that is in all categories not just TV & Film. Excellent podcast and way to go on achieving #1 in the horror category.

Neato GUY and GAL – I think your the best to, dont matter wat the numbers say anyway. Im totally into your new directors cut episode also —hopefully more on the way—, its really kool hearing from indies and how they went about making and filming the micro budgets movies.
I Will have to come back again when my class load lets up – however I am subscribing to your feed so I can listen to yall offline. Thanks and terrific podcast..
Just wanted to say you have a excellent podcast and congratulations on being first in the horror podcasting category.
very nice achievement-good podcast i like all your segments—
You have the bestest horrorcast to me and the rankings even show it, thanks for the xtra shows this month and thanks for listening to your fans wanting more
John from Gutmunchers here. Kind of stumbled on this list. Personally I don’t know diddly about web statistics and honestly couldn’t care less. Anyone who worries about whose audience is bigger is just being silly. At the end of the day I think we all are just doing this for fun, no?
The coolest and most useful thing about the above list is that there are a bunch of shows I’ve never heard of that I can’t wait to check out. That includes the Horror Movie Show. Everyone keep up the good work and keep having fun!
-John
I am an avid listener of a bunch of horror podcasts and would like to congratulate you guys at the HorrorMovieShow. You guys are one of my favorites cause of the descriptions and ratings you give to the horror genre movies. I can always look forward to excellent analysis which gives me the insight whether to run to the theaters or buy a DVD.
nice cast-nice way to capture the one spot
Good job on being #1. Your podcast is a enjoyable piece of work which definitely I am pleased with. All the details are amusing, insightful and useful at the same time. Thanks for keeping us engaged!
Thank you for a great podcast. Nice achievement horror hosts.
Took me an era to review all the comments, but I really think your podcast is head&shoulders above the rest! Although I haven’t listened to all 30, probably half, I keep staying put with your podcast.
via Alexa:
“Based on internet averages, hmpod.com is visited more frequently by females who are in the age range 45-54 and browse this site from home.”
that’s a hot demo!
Hi, Alexa or Mr. Blip, since you don’t want to leave your name, from Riverside, California, actually the averages are ages 35+ with 60% women and 40% men, and I catch your hint of sarcasm, but we are extremely proud of our demographic and have increased tenfold month after month. Maybe next time you can leave you name, ok.
Found your podcast several days ago and have listened to about 5 episodes so far and you got me hooked. I like your segments and rating scale, gives me a guideline on whether I should buy/rent the movie. So glad I found you keeps my long drive to work entertaining. Congratulations on having the best horror podcast out there.
Excellent podcast – Sweet spot #1 isn’t it – Keep up the good work

Your show is my favorite horror podcast. Thanks for the stellar horror content.
what i like most about your podcast over all others is you dont psycho-analyze movie reviews. you give us summaries, ratings, recos for the common man. in addition you focus us on new release horror movies with a top-notch one from the past. excellent podcast all the way.
great achievement! love your show!
Excellent at capturing the top notch in the nitch of Horror Podcasts. I am actually surprised there are over 30 of them. Horror has always been my thing and I enjoy your show.
am glad to see my favorite podcasters on the web are # 1
It’s a worthy data collated here. The website mentioned provides good baseline on the overall popularity of any site.
Never seen this many comments on one article in my life! Just wanted to drop my 2 cents in and say your show is a bute, couldn’t ask for nothing more than current reviews+ratings on horror movies.
Super work on being the most popular, I am totally into your show and get all my horror movie reviews from ya.
I love the podcast and blog. Great post and nice to know that the horror genre has so many podcasters. It is very true, people must learn how to figure out popularity before commenting with bogus stuff. They need to learn before they can learn. lol i know it sounds funny but its very true. . .
Super announcement, tried about 5 podcasts on the list just to get an idea of the others, and I can see why your podcast is the best. Hopefully you keep the content free with this much success.
Seriously guys this is awesome. Being first in anything on the web is so huge. Great job!
NICE TO SEE YOUR #1. JUST SUBSCRIBED TO GET YOUR SHOWS AUTOMATICALLY ON APPLE ITUNES.
Very beneficial stats by yall. I didn’t need to see it though to actually know your podcast is the best of horror, I look forward to each 1 of your episodes, and really appreciate the extra shows you put on from time to time.
you have had quite a bit of success – way to go.
Your horror podcast is a refreshing take on horror reviews. No hokey-pokey jargon, just up front straight and consistent ratings and reviews. A real treat! Thanks for putting out such a high quality podcast. Regards, F.Fergia.
Wow-Way To Go-Your My Favorite Podcast By Far!!!!!
I get your shows via my iPad and just love it, listen at work or on the road, I always make time for your podcast.
