The Horror Movie Show 0020: Deskinned Octopus
Episode 20 Podcast switches the playing field up this week with the HorrorGal giving a go as the main host. The first review is for The Crazies currently playing at theaters and is a remake of the George A. Romero classic of 1973. A virus strain has contaminated the water supply in this sleepy town and turns all the locals into maniacal and twisted lunatics who will stop at nothing from killing off the population.
The second movie reviewed is for ReGOREgitated Sacrifice which was released on DVD March 2nd and is a sequel of Slaughtered Vomit Dolls by writer/director Lucifer Valentine. A parallel universe surfaces for a young twisted soul who is contemplating suicide.

I always wait up before I go to bed on Wednesdays for your horror podcast to go live (yeah I know I’m a weirdo) and to my surprise my favorite talk show host the Horrorgal has the reignes this week. Excellentay gal, us women must stick together and you are one of only a handful of women horror hosts on the web. I listen to the slackers ate my naybors because they have a girl on theirs but they stink in comparison to your show. Fun stuff, keep it rolling and you as always were really good Horrorguy.
This is the first time I actually listen your podcast and it was definitely worth the time spent. Good work!
Your site gets better and better as you continue. It is real and the language is not foul like some other sites. You do a thorough explanation and rating on each movie and you give your listeners a very good insight so they can decide if they want to go see the movie, purchase the DVD if available, or just avoid the movie altogether. Good luck and I hope more of the public will tune into your show for your take on the horror movies.
This is one of the best reviews of films I have heard. Your podcast makes it very easy to understand take a pick. Keep up the good work.
I agree with Horror Guy and Horror Gal that there’s nothing really special about Breck Eisner’s remake of “The Crazies.” Actually, George A. Romero’s original version was a better film. The problem with both the original and Eisner’s remake is that this theme is so commonplace now that it has become a sci-fi/horror cliche.
Frankly, there are much better virus films out there. Francis Lawrence’s “I am Legend” manages to combine an out of control virus and vampires in a single film. My personal favorite in this genre is the British film “28 Days Later” The frightening thing about “28 Days Later” is it could actually happen. There is something about genetically modified chimps attacking everyone in sight that seems all too real.
If you like apocalyptic films about viruses, go rent “The Andromeda Strain.” Both the 1971 film and the 2008 TV Miniseries share many of the same themes found in “The Crazies.” Robert Wise is a much better director than Breck Eisner however.
Until I got thinking about this, I had forgotten how many virus themed films there were. You guys could do an entire podcast on the great virus movies of all time.

Your review of that GORE movie actually fascinated me and wondered if it could be as bad as you said in your podcast. So i went to youtube to find a trailer and to my amazement i had to create a free account to view it (first time i ever seen that) and was blown away how vial it is. Let me add to the hosts are right on the mark, stay away, garbage, garbage, garbage, can i rate a minus figure? -10 for that movie.
im continually scurrying all around the web the majority of the evening therefore I tend to read a ton, which isn’t normally a good matter as a large amount of the pages I visit are composed of unnecessary trash copied from different internet sites a trillion times, on the other hand I gotta give you props this website is in truth is brilliant and also boasts very unique material and a very cool “podcast” which before this I was unfamiliar with.
hey there smart little web design ya got here
good episode here, the 2ofu were really turned off on the one movie, so i will avoid. checkout or watch twilight eclipse, breaking dawn online trailers and videos, u might like.
yo good blog yea nice work … the orig. crazies was better than the remake.
Let me tell you…Timothy Olyphant is absolutely my No.1 actor right now. What an amazing performer. Just fabulous!…Excellent review and rating system you walk us through on your show.
I really love your website + your podcast is really cool too.
Superb podcast, I’m glad I found your show, & thanks for the discussion of Regoregitated Sacrifice, I will definitely be avoiding that low budget junkola. I will be checking back frequently for new episodes.
Many interesting movies to check out and like the discussions on the episodes. Will avoid the GORE movie.
The Crazies was a disappointment, espicially with the stars that were in it. I am giving the GUY
10 Smilies for that eerie Zombie music.
I randomly browse podcasts on the internet, and I find your show to be very informational on all aspects of horror movies. I have already bookmarked it on my browser, in order that I can view your site more later. Heard this episode and downloaded 2 others that I am interested in. Highly useful!
The Crazies was such a let down. I was expecting so much more. I would rate right in between you guys as a 5. I will immediately grab your rss feed to stay abreast of any new updates. Pleasant work and much success!
Hi,I will no doubtedly avoid the movie rated a 1, Elizbeth Paliotta
Nice stuff and kool title, a deskinned octopus, sounds bizarre and by your review, I think it sounds like garbage.
cool podcast i liked hearing about the crazies, coming to dvd soon so i think i will wait til then to see it since you both thought it was just mediocre.
Just to let you know, that guy Valentine who did Regoregitated has his third installment coming out in a month or so, please dont review it, just like you said it is utter garbage.
Hey – nice blog for horror, just wanted to drop a line about Cujo pick on the podcast, while it is a fairly good dog movie, dont think I would of hit a 9 on that. King has better ones like It, Firestarter and The Dead Zone.
I really like the weekly reviews, got many more to catch up too your current one, but I’ll make it.
cheers for this nice podcast. great topic to talk about on my site. I bookmarked yalls site and will listen to more when i have time — oh almost forgot why i am commenting about the upchucking movies by this valentine character — it is aboslutely vial to say the least — glad to hear you wont be reviewing that guys other movies
awesome podcast. that whackjob valentine just released his third vomiting movie and please do avoid it at all cost. the crazies was a credible remake better than some that have been released recently for sure. thanks for hearing me out.
