The Horror Movie Show 0021: The Poltergeist Curse
Episode 21 Podcast features 2 DVD reviews from this years After Dark Horrorfest film festival also known as 8 Films To Die For. Both of these movies will be released on March 23rd, 2010.
The show starts off with the analysis and rating of Kill Theory which has a tagline of “Deep down, were all killers.” A group of college graduates head out to a secluded home in the woods only to be faced with the ultimate decision on whether to die or kill off their friends in order to survive.
The second independent review is for Lake Mungo which is filmed documentary style with interviews and film clips throughout. The Palmer family has just lost their daughter in suspicious ways and it is thought that her ghostly presence is trying to communicate to them in their home and on videotape.

people must watch these movie
Yay
I can’t wait to see this movie. It’s like the return of Jigsaw!
This is my kinda movie.
But if I were in their shoes, I’d have to kill them all, I’m gonna live!!
Lol!
We need a new originality rating for all these new movies. Oh wait, they would all get zeros for rehashing the same old, tired, overused story lines, over and over with a 10% script variance…
“We need a new originality rating for all these new movies. Oh wait, they would all get zeros for rehashing the same old, tired, overused story lines, over and over with a 10% script variance…” – it’s obvious that there are some classic themes that were resumed over and over, like love, death, fear, sadness etc. However, the point is the way in which one decides to express something new and innovative about these themes.
“New and innovative” would be nice, but those are few and far between.
Case in point: “A group of college graduates head out to a secluded home in the woods only to be faced with the ultimate decision on whether to die or kill off their friends in order to survive.”
How times do “A group of college graduates head out to a secluded home in the woods”? Please.
How many times are people “faced with the ultimate decision on whether to die or kill off their friends in order to survive”? I can name several without trying.
That is not expressing something new and innovative. It is hacking and slashing the same old hack and slash movies. One scene here, one scene there.
Come on now. You can’t tell me most of these are anywhere near original ideas.
Ha, I thought the complete opposite of your ratings for these two movies. Oh well.
