I caught the new Nightmare a few weeks back and must agree with the hosts to the T. Excellent remake and the sound is downright spooky. Funny analogy Horror Guy during the podcast describing that low tuba sound. I love your podcast and can’t wait for more summaries each week.
i went to the theater with my husband and two kids (age 16, 17) to see a nightmare on elm street last night, now me being a robert englund fan i was a little disheartened but still liked it, my kids who had never seen the series were scared out of there mind, i wouldnt be surprised if they have bad dreams thereselves. your podcast really hit the nail on the head, if you look at it as a new series it will be rated high, only us old folks who have seen the series will be slightly disappointed. accurate information and very well thought out podcast, will be listening to each episode to get our families horror reviews.
The best review I have heard on the Freddy remake. Straight and to the point with no ambiguous thoughts.
Hey GAL I was using your Red Box codes to get free movies and havne’t heard you state any recently. I was wondering do you still have the membership or did I just miss an episode where you talked about it?
Thanks.
I Loved Nightmare! Thank you for the accurate information and ratings which led me to the theaters!
Descriptive review of A Nightmare on Elm Street, heading to the theater this weekend to see it. Thank you also for the new theater section added to this website, now I know what to look forward to in the coming year.
The remake of Freddy was AWESOME period. I agree with the hosts, great popcorn flick, will scare the bejeezus off of you!
A nightmare remake was one of the best remade classics of all time- I dont understand the blogosphere putting this movie down, maybe a little to harsh, they need to think about the movies in todays time. This is why you are my favorite horror podcast because you stand for the common people and dont over analyze the horror movies. Horror movies are made to scare you, and this remake does it well. Thanks for putting out such a great podcast!!!
i am with the hosts on the new freddy movie, alot of diehard fans took it way to literal it is a fun horror movie my rating of 8 on that one worth buying and rewatching 4 sure
I just wanted to put in my 2 cents. First of all – HGal, it’s Robert Englund, not John Englund-just a little mis-say. Also, storywise, this is actually very different from the original in that in the original, Freddy was a child murderer and in the reboot, he was actually a pedophile. I think that makes a big difference. The makeup is very different because they decided to make JEH look more like a burn victim rather than what they did originally. I am a huge Freddy fan but still like to take each movie as it is. So I don’t have a problem with reboots and I really liked this movie, actually went to it twice on opening day. Overall-great podcast, I enjoy listening to your reviews. Keep up the great work, it is really appreciated.
