The Horror Movie Show 0063: Curry Balls

Episode 63 Podcast features for a first time on The Horror Movie Show a back-to-back theater movies rating and review. Jamie Coward one of the Horrorphilia hosts joins us in discussing the movies. Check out their podcast at  www.horrorphilia.net and drop a line to Jamie at his email address of jamiecoward@gmail.com.

The show begins with a quick talk about Hatchet II being pulled from the theaters, then comes a detailed review of Let Me In which was taken directly from the Swedish movie Let The Right One In. After the rating the hosts delve into the differences between the two movies. A young boy who is picked on in school finds a friend with his new neighbor who turns out to be a several hundred years old vampire girl who craves blood.

Next the horror-comedy It’s A Wonderful Afterlife is mulled over. This movie premiered in several countries and got a limited release here in the U.S. on October 8th. An extremely protective mother wants her daughter to get married and will stop at nothing to prove this. After poisoning events and while the cops are looking for a serial killer, ghosts come back to haunt the mother.

The show ends with the Thriller Chiller segment where Jamie chimes in with a pick of his own, The Exorcist, which was just released on BluRay. You can buy this double disc special at Amazon or through our Recommendations Page as The Exorcist was HorrorGal’s favorite horror movie ever.

Excellent picks of the week been so long since I seen either, grabbed them both up at the great prices you found. I am personally sick of all these love/vampire movies, whats going on, Twilight, True Blood, gag me, even though you rated it above average or better gonna skip it. It is such a pleasure listening to your podcast, I look forward each week to the new release reviews.

thx for another nice show – i wanted to leave my 2 cents on the hatchet 2 controversy – i think the biggest problem was the date it was released going against 3 other horror movies on the same day plus other blockbusters still wasnt out of the theaters like piranha and twilight -im not sure who decides what day to premier but it was the biggest fault they should of pushed it to 10-15 no horror movies come out then – wasnt a huge fan of hatchet but would of liked to see part 2 – guess we all have to wait til dvd

Doctor Horror I dont know what to make of a 9 rating but really not recommending a theater viewing Maybe u feel bad about rating it so hi the vary detailed review of let me in + let the right one in was fantastic.

hi there sierra. i really enjoyed it and stand by my 9 as it was a great movie and great film work.i did not suggest theatre only because i dont think the average movie goer would feel they got their moneysworth. if i knew someone had the same exact taste as me i would not hesitate to tell them to see it. hope this helps clarify and thanks for the feedback!

good review of let me in, seen it a few days ago and while not the scariest film on earth by no means it held its own, i can see how people would find it boring and maybe even too sentimental for a horror movie, i will rate this one a 7. thanks for keeping us updated on the new cinema movies guys.

A little story for you at why the horror movie show is the best horror podcast.

The wife and i went to watch a movie on Friday, now I had heard all your episodes previously so i had a idea what to expect, i wanted to see Let me in and the wife Its a wonderful afterlife, which i knew you said was horrible, so my son and i saw Let me in and the wife and daughter watched Its a wonderful afterlife.

After the movies were over my wife said how bad the movie was and i told her you should of listened to me (after hearing your review).

I told her you should of watched Let me in i knew you had rated it good and she said alright next time we go see horror movies i will believe you. (thats a feat in itself)

I know it is long winded guys but i just wanted to tell you my appreciation and respect i have for your show and i really value your opinions they are always right on the mark.
