Bashed, trashed, dashed & slashed
The latest episode of The Horror Movie Show, with your Maccabean and revolting hosts Mark & Jerry, features several new horror flicks, some personal comments that should not be repeated and a dash of something that could be table salt. Hope it’s not anthrax spores. Doesn’t taste like salt…. Uh-oh.
To begin, the newest entry in the Final Destination series — FD5 — gets the once-over. Could this be the last entry in that gorey and entertaining series? Also discussed with proper disgust are the James Cameron-produced Sanctum, the interesting remake of an old TV episode titled The Box (starring the always watchable Cameron Diaz) and, of course, the latest two episodes of the excellent series The Walking Dead.
For those that enjoy Jerry’s rants & angry comments about the GOP loonies and their race to win back the Outhouse — I mean White House — best listen again to Podcast 55. There is almost no discussion of politics in this episode. Or in this introduction, for that matter.
As always, comments from our loyal listeners are sought and desired. I wish the same could be said of me.

Who left their Head & Shoulders on the beach?
On this episode of The Horror Movie Show — adequately hosted by those sons of fun Jerry & Mark — listen intently to discussions and reviews of the prequel X-Men: First Class. What fun it is to see Wolverine passing notes in class! Also on the bill is Karen Black‘s 1975 winner Trilogy of Terror. The episode featuring the Zuni fetish doll is a classic moment in horror movies. Also up: Donner Pass, a movie that will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Finally, Mark & Jerry talk about 2011′s Sand Sharks, a concept only slightly sillier than NASA‘s plan to land astronauts on the Sun (the trick is to go at night when the sun is not so bright). Best of luck to all our listeners in enjoying this show.

Brad Pitt nude under his clothes
Reviewed this week: Jude Law is a man with a broken heart and an employer who wants to rip its mechanical replacement right out of his living chest in Repo Men. Also on the bill: The Hunters (hint: don’t wear the orange vest), The Frankenstein Syndrome and the wacky, zany, madcap horror-comedy Some Guy Who Kills People.
The Horror Movie Show is pleased to donate the rest of its space here to Mr. Brad Pitt. He would like to speak on the subject of how much he likes the changes that could soon occur here at hmpod.com. Mr. Pitt, though a talented thespian, seemed to have trouble understanding our simple, straightforward plan to move a large potted plant from one room to another. He was seen at one point scratching his head and making a wry face into a mirror.
Ladies and gentlemen, with no further ado… Mr. Brad Pitt.
“Hello, good day, hey there & welcome to our new & improved Horror Movie Show. [Grunts] Huh! It is, like always, hosted by your — huh! — subgenial hosts Mark & Jerry. Those scalliwags! [Laughs] Huh-huh-huh… Actually, the two of them are fine when they are separated. Mostly they lie on the ground and pick at themselves. But, like, quiet. But, you know, you put those two nuts in the same room and mayhem WILL ensue!
“Um, yeah… In any case, it’s a cool site and Angie was just saying last night that it’s the best podcasted horror thing or whatever, you know, that’s like going on around in the whole universal cosmos thing. So whatever. I listen to it & I like it. End of story. I’m outta here. Nice to see you.”

Burning down the Dream House
On this, the absolute newest episode of The Horror Movie Show — with your sadly neglected hosts Jerry & Mark — discussions are held regarding the Hollywood blockbuster Dream House, with Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts. What is going on? Are there no American actors for hire? Also discussed: Samuel L. Jackson slums it in The Arena; drug addicts give birth to monstrous child-things in Hidden 3D; and the very fine Love shines down upon our troubled planet. Mark & Jerry also blether about the new TV series Alcatraz. And check out the extraordinary art of Alison Lilly.
And for those few listeners who don’t enjoy the political commentary — Newt Gingrich‘s head looks like it might hatch out some sort of Godzilla-like reptile creature — you are now past it. Thank you for your patience.

Werewolves with zits
Good day to everyone out there in Cyberland! We here at The Horror Movie Show have begun the year with a bang (we exploded our old accountant; he’d been taking a third smoke break so he had to go) and a series of devastating karate chops that effectively eliminated all the deadwood in our magnificently resplendent offices here on the penthouse floors of the fabulous Splutt Building, located closer than you think.
As to the movies reviewed this week by Mark & Jerry, your savage & unnatural hosts, we have a rather mixed or mongrel collection. We begin with The Howling: Reborn. This flick is aimed at the same youngsters and multi-feline owners as the Twilight series, so be warned. The made-for-TV film Doomsday Prophecy is discussed. And we end this episode with a review of Dog Soldiers, an excellent werewolf movie from 2002, recommended by a listener of our very own Horror Movie Show (thanks!). Hope that’s meaty enough for you all to bury your gorey fangs.
